Common mistake in VOIP International Call Service

To gain more Average Revenue per User (ARPU) by increasing calling traffic from their customers, fixed wireless CDMA telecommunication operators used to have specific prefix number to make a long distance call. As we know that the mobility of their customers are limited by area/region and some of them have no directly Long Distance Call Service (SLJJ) license. So, to provide long distance call for their customers usually they provide specific dial access code. But this method is working only for their customers; it means the same dial access code will not work once we try to call to another telecommunication operator’s number. Through specific dial access code, telecommunication operators will give cheap tariff to the customers.
Usually telecommunication operators used to have VOIP International Call Service to provide international call for their customers. It is the same thing with long distance call service through own network (own-net), telecommunication operators used to specify dial access code during make a call but it is different access code with long distance call. And it is the same reason that through VOIP International Call Service, customers will pay cheap for their calling session. Through both methods, telecommunication operators hope their ARPU will increase every month
Unfortunately sometimes it is not running as we expected once both access codes for VOIP International Call Service and Long Distance Call Service are a little bit confusing. This will show you a case how this is happening
For example a fixed wireless CDMA Telecommunication operator has both service and below is the access codes for both;
To make a call for;
1. Long Distance Call Service = 01010 + Area Code with (0) + Destination number
Example;
a. Jakarta customer need to call to Bandung, then he/she must dial 0101002291312xxx
b. Surabaya customer need to call to Balikpapan, then he/she must dial 0101005429234xxx
2. VOIP International Call Service = 01010 + Country Code + Area Code + Destination number
Example;
a. Jakarta Customer need to call to Singapore , then he/she must dial 01010 6564xxxx
b. Surabaya customer need to call to India, then he/she must dial 01010919703012xxx
As you saw above access codes for both VOIP International Call Service and Long Distance Call Service is the same (01010). This is a little bit confusing for customers if they are in the first time to make a call for both services. For them who used to make a call for both service definitely will be no issue
This is common mistake once customers need to make a long distance call service but they are using invalid access code
For example;
1. Jakarta customer makes a call to Jambi customer. Unfortunately they dial with 01010 7419701xxx
Since the prefix is invalid, then the calling will be forwarded to Russia
The valid call is 010100 7419701xxx
2. Bandung customer makes a call to Makasar number by dialing 01010 4119144xxx
Since the prefix is invalid, then the calling will be forwarded to Switzerland
The valid call is 010100 4119144xxx
3. Medan customer makes a call to Yogyakarta customer by dialing 010102749221xxx
Since the prefix is invalid, then the calling will be forwarded to South Africa
The valid call is 0101002749221xxx
4. Medan customer makes a call to Purwakarta customer by dialing 01010264916xxx
Since the prefix is invalid, then the calling will be forwarded to Namibia
The valid call is 010100264916xxx
5. Semarang customer makes a call to Malang customer by dialing 010103419776xxx
Since the prefix is invalid, then the calling will be forwarded Spain
The valid call is 0101003419776xxx
6. Bandung customer makes a call to Denpasar customer by dialing 010103619645xxx
Since the prefix is invalid, then the calling will be forwarded Hungary
The valid call is 0101003619645xxx
For all common mistake above, the call will be disconnected since usually the destination number is incomplete for each country. And for all that common mistake, customer will be not charged

Huawei product flooded in Indonesia market

As a new comer in the CDMA platform, Bakrie telecom has decided to launch CDMA mobile telecommunication gadgets that have low cost but good quality. To realize this idea, Bakrie Telecom makes a deal with Huawei as a partner to provide all requirements. This dealing have benefit to both side, Huawei is a new player in the gadget market, this is a good chance for them to expand their products, as we know they have succeed with mobile telecommunication infrastructures. The demand for this infrastructure is increasing significant especially in the South Asia market. Meanwhile for Bakrie Telecom, this agreement will increase customers demand due their mobile numbers have been bundled in this low cost gadgets. It is very difficult for new mobile telecommunication provider in Indonesia to get significant customers since there are around ten providers offered the same services. In this competition, low cost tariff have an important role, almost all providers is offering this scenario.

The idea to bundle the gadget and the numbers will more attractive from the customers view. Right now there more then one million Huawei gadgets have been in the Indonesia market. There more then one types of gadgets are available and variety of services provided by Bakrie Telecom to have more attractive.

Despite of low cost Bakrie Telecom are offering some benefits in this gadget, they are;

1. Free call between Bakrie telecom numbers (on network) for six months or more
2. Free SMS between Bakrie Telecom numbers (on net) and
3. Value added services indeed.
As was expected, Indonesian market responded well to this offering, in the short time.

I am sure there many people is disappoint with the wireless internet access (CDMA 1x, 3G, EVDO) provided by many telecommunication operators. At the first time, they can surf very fast but few months later it will very slow
Many factors influence the speed of wireless internet access. It could be hardware modem issue, BTS occupancy, distance from BTS to BSC, bandwidth to internet etc. But as a customer we do not want to know about it all. We just need the service as telecommunication promise in the promotion after we paid
Usually, telecommunication operators are getting occupancy issue either BTS or internet bandwidth but mostly it is because Radio Frequency (RF) capacity. Telecommunication operators promote to have more and more customers but in many cases, the network is saturated. What happening in this case is, customer session is still there but has poor quality since many request from customers but limit bandwidth capacity. So then the session is still going on but the speed is very slow or no response from the website
I used to use Wimode modem from Bakrie telecom to access to internet and as any other telecommunication operators, sometime the speed is good but during the peak hour sometimes getting slow. Sometimes when I read a page from websites for a few minutes suddenly I can browse to the next page or I can not to access to another website. Then I have to wait for few minutes to be able to access to the next page or new website. What happen once we read the page from the website we love is our connection was terminated by the network due to our session is in dormant mode. Dormant mode is idle session once no traffic is downloaded from us. What happen in the next once we need to browse to new website or the next page is, we have to make new session again. We have to request a channel from BTS and so on
To keep the session we already made from our modem, BTS until bandwidth internet once we read a page we love for a few minute, I used to do ping session to particular website or address. This is to ensure that we always occupy a channel. Another thing, by pinging to particular website or address we will notice how fast the connection we have and prepare once the connection will be dropped

To do pinging session you can follow the steps below;
1. Click start
2. Click run
3. Click cmd then windows prompt will appear
4. type a website you want to test or address for example www.yahoo.com -t
You can identify your connection by seeing the response that appears there. The best response time is less than 1 ms (direct connection to the system or located in the same network). For CDMA 1x system, response time around 500 ms to 1500 ms is still acceptable. We can say the connection is good. But for 3G system it should be less than that. It is depending on website you want to test. And if the response time is more than that range, please prepare as in few second the session will be no response. The page you are seeing will lank.

Why my mobile internet connection running so slow

For them, who has internet connection through mobile telecommunication I am sure they have much disappoints than happy. Either they are using 3G or CDMA platform they will feel the same. At the first time maybe they will so happy since their mobile internet connection is going as fast as promised by provider. But after 3 to 4 they will very disappointed since it is going so slow. And than they will complaint so hard to provider by writing a mail, calling to customer services or the final option, they will publish the complaint to news paper or another media public. It is fair if customer had such complaint since they have spent much money to have internet connection but they got nothing

In the right below pop up menu will display the speed you will get during accessing to internet. For 3G platform it will display 3.6 Mbps or 156 Kbps in CDMA. Which such speed they can download huge data from internet very fast and access real time service without delay such as webcam, voice conference at the same time

How is the speed of you 3G services?

About 3 years ago, at the first introduction of 3G services in Indonesia market, many customers expected that they can do browse to several websites very fast and download to huge file as well. Through 3G services, customers believe that the distance is no more issue for them to have virtual connection with their family or friends located at different city since 3G services provided video call feature in order to they can face to face to talk. Unfortunately they get not many as they expected. In this case, it seems customers have too high expectation. That is what happened to 3G services in Indonesia
At the first time, telecommunication operators are giving what they promised to their customers to have exiting experience by doing wireless internet access. A telecommunication operator offered high speed data access through 3G wireless network. For around 2-3 months, customers really got what have been promised by telecommunication operators. They got new experience to access internet through 3G services. They can connect their family and friend through video call feature provided in the 3G services. Customers need only a few minute to download huge file and real time services can be accessed very smooth. In the short sentence, customers are very satisfied with 3G services at the first introduction of this service.
Unfortunately after 2-3 months since the first introduction, the quality was going down. The quality of speed is suddenly becoming very slowly and almost they have no response from the URL address. And then cam again another telecommunication operators offer the same service and off course cheaper tariff. More people are trying to feel this experience and buying a new 3G services offered by new comer of 3G provider. And as expected before, the same case happens again. It is only around 2-3 months that 3G service is giving what they have promised. The quality of speed is becoming very bad after 2-3 months later.
Many factors are influences the quality of speed in 3G services. And the main reason is the saturation of the network either BTS capacity or internet upstream to ISP due more customers occupied network. If so, telecommunication operators should expand their network or add more bandwidth capacity to their ISP partners so then customers will get what they have been promising during promotion
This is the bad case, when my friend was trying to upload a file (around 20 KB) to update his blog/website, what happened in the next is, he was trying so many times to upload but always failed. The funny this is, he was connecting to 3G network to update his blog/website. And he is only accessing one URL address, it is a multiply. More often when you are trying to connect to 3G network, you will be responded by GPRS network. The result is you will get GPRS speed and not 3G speed or your session connected to 3G network but you get very slow speed due to high occupancy network. And in this case, my friend connected to 3G network but no traffic is coming. His session is connecting but can do nothing. It is very bad because you pay for 3G service but in many cases you get GPRS service or get nothing

Customers also can change their phone number with new one once they forgot to reload and got expired status just by buying the new phone numbers easily. Prepaid vouchers are available at anywhere either physic or electric one and customers can buy it at anywhere and anytime they want. In the simple word, by having prepaid phone numbers, customers control it whether they want to reload or they want to disconnect and buy the new one or migrate to the competitor’s phone numbers
Telkomsel, XL, Indosat, Bakrie Telecom and others telecommunication operators are utilize prepaid product to get as many as customers by offering as many as interesting packages. They offer many benefits for old and candidate prepaid customers once they want to launch new product and service
You will not find the same promotion to the postpaid customers. You will not find that postpaid customers receive free call, SMS and internet access. If you find, it is only a limited offering
