LTE in Indonesia

Long Term Evolution (LTE) is an innovation will be technology fourth generation (4G). How the opportunities the implementation of this technology in Indonesia?

According to Henrik Brograard, Head of Sales Nokia Siemens Network Indonesia, the future of LTE in the country is still depending on the various parties involved.

For example, if viewed from the side of the operator and vendor networks, they are deemed to have been prepared from the infrastructure, hardware and technology. But if it is viewed from the perspective of consumers, then it still must wait.

"Look at cell phones and laptops in circulation now, yet there is already support LTE," he said, in a roundtable discussion with reporters at Menara Mulia, Jakarta, Thursday (1/4/2010).

One more, go Henrik, who holds an important role in the implementation of LTE in Indonesia are from the government side as the regulator. "If the regulator I see it is still fifty-fifty, because they are still trying to set up the frequency," he said.

Even so, it does not mean LTE, which reputedly has a data transfer speeds up to 100 Mbps is still far to taste the Indonesian people. For, though from the side of the handset is not already launched, but the operators and vendors the network is preparing for this technology.

"I predict the end of this year and the first half of 2011, the operator shall conduct testing. And at the end of the year 2011 will be testing the LTE in a limited scope," said Henrik.

Optimism is certainly not without reason because for the adoption of LTE when viewed from the hardware vendors are ready. In addition, telecom operators Homeland is also considered a success in the spread of technology HSPA + is capable of distributing data at speeds up to 21 Mbps.

"I even dare to say that Indonesia will become the country with the implementation of LTE, the greatest," Henrik asserted (detiknet.com)
