Smart Telecom introduces CDMA EVDO Rev B

High demand on broadband internet service from telecommunication subscriber is noticed well by telecommunication companies in Indonesia. This situation motivates telecommunication companies to give more attractive broadband internet service to their subscribers. Smart Telecom realizes that subscribers are smart to choose which the best broadband internet service which gives the best service. The best service means that it has high speed internet access, stable, competitive price and excellent customer service. To generate high speed internet access and stable connection, Smart Telecom will introduce mobile broadband networks based on advanced technology, CDMA, EVDO Rev B, for two-three months starting next December 10, 2009 on the island of Gods, Bali.

Introduction of CDMA EVDO Rev B by Smart Telecom is making Indonesia as the fourth country in the world and first in Asia Pacific. Previously, Smart Telecom operates in 1900 MHz frequency band, relying on EVDO Rev A network is spread across five cities, Greater Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Bali, and Yogyakarta. Smart Telecom network trials that took place in Bali using two channels available in 48 base transceiver stations (BTS) of his, which uses Qualcomm's technology and network devices its base station's ZTE.

EVDO Rev B is a Rev A technology development that could provide faster speed, i.e. up to 9.3 Mbps for downloads and 5.4 Mbps for upload. While EVDO Rev A, the access speed is only up to 3.1 Mbps for downloads and 1.8 Mbps for upload. Smart Telecom will give more option to telecommunication subscribers in Indonesia and give more experience to access high speed internet access through CDMA EVDO Rev B.
